ROLE: CREATIVE / AR ARTIST / 3D EXPLORER :)
AR FILTERS
My inner geek is always happy to combine art with technologies, and so I absolutely fell in love with AR. Following project allowed me to explore technical possibilities and creative potential at the same time. This is a series of Digital Beauty Filters, published on @drest instagram profile. I also created series of personal filters shared on @lusietta IG account or a filter dedicated to promote The Three Kings Fundraising.
SOFTWARE:
Spark AR, Blender 3D, Photoshop and Procreate
BACKGROUND:
I saw an opportunity in repurposing existing in-app beauty assets (make-up looks curated by Mary Greenwell) that were only being used on in-game avatars at the time.
Whilst constantly looking for ways to engage with our 10k (and growing) social audience, this looked like a fun way to bring the gaming experience closer to them, as well as drive conversions and app downloads, to ultimately gain new game players. With an idea native to the platform.
So I experimented with Spark AR in its beta version (Facebook’s native AR creation tool, now Meta Spark Studio) and proactively designed and created series of beauty AR filters, blurring lines of digital and physical experience with the brand. In total, I created 8 bespoke filters, with many more in the ideation/development stage.
To utilise the moment, I created more social media content showcasing the filters while also promoting game itself.
I’m really proud of these as I delivered this all in 2020, before the virtual fashion and metaverse boom, which is the area the company is positioning themselves in now.
